PROW T4 FINAL YA

31st Jan Most of my guitar parts have already been recorded and honestly it was the solos that took the longest time to be sent in. I also recorded the drum parts that day. All was going according to production schedule thus far. 14th Feb Russell sent in his bass solo. I felt that I really should have pushed people to send me their solos. I aimed to have everyone had sent in their solos by this week but it didn't happen.  26th Feb Vincent sent in his parts and now the song is about finished, just glad that i still managed to finish on time.

PROW T4

For prow i really couldnt find anything inspirational enough to expand into a whole song. at first i wanted to go towards a more ascoustical side of guitar with exchanging solos and percussion and keyboard pads. but as time went on i couldnt get much out of it until i came across a youtube video where it was just a big electric guitar shred collab and i thought " what better way to remember my friends' other than to have them all do solos with Vincent as my main artist?" This brings me to this week where i have all guitar, bass and drum parts laid out and the arrangement done. Just sent the files of the backing tracks to everyone to record them.

BYEBYE PROW T3 by Loke

I think that all of my group members are super pleasant to work with, each strong in their own aspects. Extremely glad to have them in my group. As I don't have the BUS module, I could not help out in the business aspect of this project. I decided to contribute in the only thing which I could think of, which was to record instruments to allow my teammates to have an easier time. As I don't usually write lyrics for most of my songs, i struggled with that aspect but fortunately for me, I had my group members to help. Once we had decided on our Artist to produce, we had felt that our first song was not fitting for the voice and style that Shirleen, our artist had. So we had chosen to use one of her older PROW tracks and wanted to see what we could add onto it. We used Nothing Right, and turned it into a rock ballad by adding electric guitars and a solo at the end. Lastly, our group had gone out for a shoot and made our Artist look her best to the best of our abilities could. As ...

WEEK 2

Alicia Plan: Our plan for this week was to work on our melody and lyrics for our first song by 12pm, as well as to work on the demo 2 in terms of chord progression, story wise of the song, and melody and lyrics. We also wanted to work on our arrangement for our 1st song to see whether there was anything that we could change or add to further improve it. Do: I think we were over-ambitious by having too much tasks to complete within the day, as we only managed to finalise the story behind the first song as well as general lyrics wise - certain phrases and words that we could potentially add in the song. For our second song, we had decided that we wanted it to sound more solemn / sad in contrast to our 1st song. We had played around with some chords and found out that the chords  Fmaj7 - C  - G - Dm would be fitting for the mood that we wanted to potray. Another chord progression that could potentially work at some point could be Am - Dm - E. We also finalised our ...

WEEK 1

Alicia Plan: As we formed the group on the day of PROW itself, we did not have any initial plans on what to do together. However, during the time of PROW, we decided with a genre that we wanted to work towards which was Indie, as well as planned to complete our production schedule that was due at the end of the day. Loke brought up that he had a demo that fits well with the genre and all that we were working towards so we decided to listen to it and thought on whether it would be plausible to be used. Do: During PROW, we first listened to Loke's demo that he had mentioned before. It does sound good and it was fitting for our genre that we were working towards. Loke then mentioned that he needed some chords for the prechorus which he was missing - where I suggested for him to use his chords for the verse/chorus but reversed. After trying it out, he thought that it actually fit well and everything went well after that. After that, once the production schedule templat...
